Why We Built This Site
Tennessee recognizes broad public access to many court records, yet finding the custodian is often the hardest step. Jefferson County’s Circuit Court Clerk keeps Circuit, Criminal, General Sessions, and Juvenile services at the Justice Center. Chancery records belong with the Clerk and Master at the historic courthouse. Probate and city-court matters follow other routes. The statewide public case-history system covers appeals, not all trial cases. Bringing those boundaries, official links, local case-number forms, and request steps together helps a reader begin with the office that actually holds the record.
What You Will Find Here
The content is organized around common public-record needs in Jefferson County:
- Docket guidance: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are found and read
- Dates and settings: how to check the court calendar and confirm a hearing
- Case lookups: how to use the county portal by party name or case number
- Record requests: how to seek ordinary or certified copies from the proper clerk
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Tennessee court, clerk, or agency. Its role is limited:
- We cannot retrieve an official docket or case file for a visitor
- We cannot set, change, or confirm a court date
- We cannot seal, remove, or amend a court record
- We cannot issue certified copies or file court papers
- We cannot give legal advice about a particular matter
- We cannot promise that every fee, contact, or setting remains current
Only the Jefferson County clerk or court holding the original can provide an official record or certified copy. Confirm material facts there.
